PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOS)

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) are statements that describe the career and professional accomplishments that the program is preparing the graduates to achieve. They are set in order to measure the effectiveness of the program and to check whether it has prepared the students to deal with the real world. where they could apply and use the skills and knowledge they’ve learned to good use.

PEO-1: PROFICIENT DEVELOPMENT

To develop in the students the capacity to obtain knowledge on Science and Pharmaceutical Science and apply it expertly inside sensible requirements, for example, financial, natural, social, political, moral, well being and security, manufacturability and manageability with due moral obligation.

PEO-2: CORE PROFICIENCY

To provide ability to recognize, plan, appreciate formulate, comprehend, analyze, design and solve Pharmaceutical problems with hands on experience in different advancement involving modern tools necessary for pharmacy practice to fulfill the necessities of society and the Pharmaceutical industry.

PEO-3: SPECIALISED ACHIEVEMENT

To furnished the students with the capacity to explore, reenact, design, simulate, experiment, analyze, optimize and interpret in their core applications through multi disciplinary ideas and contemporary figuring out how to incorporate them into industry prepared graduates.

PEO-4: PROFESSIONALISM

To provide training, exposure and awareness on importance of soft skills for better career and holistic personality development as well as professional attitude towards ethical issues, team work, responsibility, accountability, multidisciplinary approach and capability to relate pharmaceutical pharmacy issues to broader social context. To provide the required training in all aspects to the graduates to work as a health care professional in community and hospital pharmacies.

PEO-5: LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

To furnish students with an academic environment and make them mindful of greatness, foster the desire of revelation, imagination, creativity, authority, composed moral codes and rules and the long lasting figuring out how to turn into an effective expert in pharmacy field.

THE PROCESS FOR ESTABLISHING THE PEO'S:

The PEOs are established through the following process steps:

STEP-1: Vision and Mission of the Institute & Department are taken into consideration to interact with various stake holders, and establish the PEO’s
STEP-2: The Head of the Department, Program Coordinator and other Senior Faculty prepares the draft version of PEOs and POs.

STEP-3: The draft rendition is examined with partners and their perspectives are gathered by the Program co-ordinator

STEP-4: The Program Assessment Committee surveys and dissects the PEOs and POs and presents its recommendations to the Departmental advisory Board.

STEP-5: The Departmental advisory Board deliberates on the recommendations and freezes the PEOs and POs and submits them to the BOG for final approval. The Program curriculum is planned by integrating inputs from members of Board of Studies and Academic council who are drawn from various academic institutions, R&D associations and industry

Dissemination of Vision, Mission and Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

The institution ensures effective communication and dissemination of the Vision, Mission, and Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) among all internal and external stakeholders, including students, faculty members, parents, management, governing body members, alumni, employers, industry representatives, professional bodies, and regulatory authorities.

Methods of Publication and Dissemination

The Vision, Mission, and PEOs are published and disseminated through the following channels:

● Flexi-boards and display boards placed at prominent locations within the campus

● Institutional newsletters and publications

● Orientation programmes for newly admitted students and parents

Process of Awareness Creation Among Stakeholders

To ensure effective implementation and awareness of the Vision, Mission, and PEOs, the institution adopts the following practices:

1. The Vision, Mission, and PEOs are explained to students at the beginning of every academic year, highlighting their importance and expected outcomes.

2. Faculty members and non-teaching staff are regularly informed about the Vision, Mission, and PEOs during meetings and academic discussions to ensure alignment with institutional goals.

3. Parents are made aware of the institutional Vision, Mission, and PEOs during orientation programmes and Parent–Teacher Meetings.

4. The Management and Governing Body members are periodically updated regarding the Vision, Mission, and PEOs to ensure policy-level support and continuous improvement.

5. Employers, alumni, and industry experts are informed about the PEOs during interactions, feedback sessions, and academic collaborations to obtain suggestions for enhancement.

6. Feedback from stakeholders is reviewed periodically to assess the effectiveness of dissemination and implementation processes.

Through these initiatives, the institution ensures that all stakeholders clearly understand and actively contribute towards achieving the Vision, Mission, and PEOs of the programme.

1.4 Process for Defining the Vision, Mission and Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

The institution has established a systematic and participative process for defining the Vision, Mission, and Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) of the programme. The process involves contributions from both internal and external stakeholders through SWOC analysis, consultative meetings, and stakeholder feedback mechanisms.

1. SWOC Analysis

SWOC analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Challenges) is conducted to evaluate institutional and programme-related factors that influence academic quality and development.

Faculty and Support Staff Participation

Faculty members and support staff possess in-depth knowledge of the programme curriculum, teaching-learning process, infrastructure, and institutional practices. They identify and document the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges of the institution and programme. Their inputs serve as a major foundation for formulating the Vision, Mission, and PEOs.

Student Participation

Students, being the primary beneficiaries of the programme, provide valuable feedback regarding infrastructure, teaching-learning practices, laboratory facilities, faculty support, and overall learning environment. Their expectations for quality education and skill enhancement are analyzed and incorporated while defining the Vision, Mission, and PEOs.

2. Consultative Process with Internal Stakeholders

The institution actively involves internal stakeholders such as Management, Governing Body members, and parents in defining the Vision, Mission, and PEOs.

Management and Governing Body

The Management is committed to providing quality education by ensuring adequate infrastructure, modern laboratories, advanced equipment, and qualified faculty members. Suggestions from the Management and Governing Body regarding academic growth, institutional development, and continuous improvement are considered while formulating the Vision, Mission, and PEOs.

Parents

Parents are important stakeholders who expect a quality academic environment for their wards. Their suggestions regarding academic facilities, student development, and institutional support systems are considered during the formulation of PEOs.

3. Feedback from External Stakeholders

Inputs from external stakeholders are essential to ensure that the programme objectives align with current industry and societal requirements.

Employers and Industry Experts

Feedback from employers and industry professionals provides valuable insights into industry expectations, emerging trends, professional competencies, and employability skills. Information is collected through formal feedback surveys and informal interactions and is utilized for defining and revising the PEOs.

Alumni

Alumni contribute significantly by sharing their professional experiences and suggestions regarding curriculum improvement, skill requirements, and career development. Their feedback helps in aligning the PEOs with real-world professional expectations.

Affiliating University

The institution is affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad. The university periodically revises academic regulations, programme outcomes, and curriculum frameworks. These changes are taken into consideration while defining and updating the PEOs.

Professional Bodies

Inputs from professional organizations such as Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA), Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI), and Indian Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (IACP) are also considered. These bodies provide information on current professional standards, industry requirements, and emerging trends in pharmaceutical education, which are incorporated into the formulation of PEOs.
